The Stunning March In Dallas:

DALLAS, April 9 -- Hundreds of thousands of people, many waving American flags, marched through downtown Dallas today to protest tougher immigration restrictions proposed in Congress and to support legalizing undocumented workers.
The Tally:
The estimates were anywhere from 20,000 to 200,000, but all of a sudden they started coming, and they kept coming and kept coming. We estimate that we have 350,000 to 500,000 people down here today."
Kossacks the tectonic shift in American Politics just gave the first major quake today. The Latino voter block flexed thier collective muscle, and oh man what they have shown of all of us, a united, peaceful, passionate front not willing to be criminalized and forced into silence. This is what we have been waiting for, and I hope that this becomes the groundswell that gets this nation back on track.
I believe that this may be the tipping point back towards the America that we knew and loved prior to Bush's unelection in 2000.
I'm excited, how bout you?
Think today was wonderful? Check this out:
Even larger demonstrations are expected on Monday that could draw a million or more people nationwide. Well over 100 rallies are planned, with big turnouts expected in New York, Washington and Phoenix. At least 20 rallies are expected to take place in California alone.
Now I don't like drafting on other people's parties, but this is a huge win for the Democratic Party. Here is where we bust out a new Contract with Humanity that is nothing more than what has worked for the past 150 years, the 150 years that brought people from all over the world to work together to build one of the greatest societies the world has ever known. The contract has already been written for us, and proven over and over again:
The New Colossus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
That my friends is what the Democratic Party stands for.
